Bucca di Beppo is a really fancy Italian restaurant that is quite pricey. The portions of food are enormous. Anyway, we went to dinner there with our friends, the Greenlands. We had reservations, but we got there early, so we waited about a half hour to be seated. After being seated, we waited about 10-15 minutes before our waiter even got to us to take our order. After our order was taken, we waited....and waited....and waited. 45 minutes later...we're starving without even an appetizer on our table yet.
Ritchell got up and found a waitress to tell about our long wait. Then a manager came to our table and told us he'll do what he can to get our food out as soon as possible. Then the owner of the restaurant stopped at our table and said the food was "on the grill" and that he'd do everything he can to make up for the wait. At this time, I'm thinking that we'd be getting free dessert.
We finally got our food about an hour or so after we were seated. The food was really good. The owner decided to give us a little extra food on the side. After we were done eating, the waiter came and told us we can have dessert for free. This is what we expected...so we ordered a cheesecake, which was delicious.
After finishing our meal, the owner and the waiter came to our table. The owner said that he wanted to personally present the bill to me. At this point he handed me the little checkbook in which the receipt would be, but it was empty! They gave us the entire meal for FREE!
It made our night! We would have spent over $70.
After that surprise, we decided to go out for a movie. We went out to see Spiderwick Chronicles. It was an interesting movie full of imagination.

That's great about the free food. And I love Buca de beppo! The kitchen table is the best! Stinks about the long wait though.
