Landscaping

About a month ago I gave a substantial down payment to a landscaper to tear our yard out and put sprinklers and new sod in. This landscaper originally told me that he would be able to start on my house the first week of April. A few days after I paid him, he told me he would be there the following week. Then he told me he would start in a few days. All of this sounded good. Well, a few days turned into a few weeks, then over a month.

I was very annoyed that the guy kept telling me he would be there and then just not show up. Finally, I demanded my money back and said that I'd just hire another landscaper. That very day, I had a new landscaper come to look at the yard. They were there later that week...which started last Friday.

Because of the weather, the work has been a little slow, but we're FINALLY seeing progress on our yard. They've been working on it almost everyday this week. The sprinklers are installed and now we're just waiting for sod.

This past weekend, we went to the Filipino fireside again. It's always fun to go and meet with so many Filipinos. This time was especially fun because Elder Oaks showed up there again. If our camera wasn't so terrible at taking pictures, we might actually have a decent picture with him. This picture was the best we could get though, since he was also very busy getting mobbed by all of the people there. Just because we're behind him doesn't mean we weren't able to shake his hand and talk with him a little.

This was the second time we've gone there and been able to meet with Elder Oaks.

We have been working on getting our home plans finalized so that we can start building. It's been an annoying process dealing with a very picky architect. We hope to have a final set of plans and permits to start building within the next few weeks, but the way things have been going...who knows? The good news in all of the process is that we found out we have more money in our construction loan funds than we thought we'd have, so we'll be able to build a nicer home.

AnaBelle is still the cutest little girl ever. She now has 4 teeth and growing more. She got some new toys that she loves! One is a mirror that has buttons she can push on the bottom of it. She loves looking at herself and others in the mirror. She also got a little toy phone...and a high chair...which she loves sitting in and thinks it's great to sit up that high so she can see everything that's going on.

This is AnaBelle with Ethel, one of our friends.

Cute pictures. I am glad you got your money back (at least it sounded that way).
