Our Invitation to All

We invite everyone, everywhere to get your own free copy of The Book of Mormon, read it and ponder its words, and ask God if it is true.  We know it to be true and have felt and seen the difference its teachings have made on our lives.  It is another testament of Jesus Christ.  We know that if you read and ponder its words, and ask God if it is true, you will know by the power of the Holy Ghost that it is true.

How Dan knows The Book of Mormon is True
One week when I was a teenager, and when my parents had gone out of town for a short time and left me behind, I decided that I wanted to learn for myself if what my parents were teaching me was true.  I couldn't just take their word for it.  I went out and purchased my own set of scriptures and began to read them.  I read at least a chapter each night for a period of several months.  As I was reading through The Book of Mormon, I felt the truth of its words, but still wasn't certain.

One night after reading, I decided to say a prayer.  I asked God if what I was reading was true.  It is difficult to put into words how I felt after praying for this answer.  All I can say is that it was a very happy, exciting, and emotional feeling that all of it was and is true.  This decision for me to read The Book of Mormon and pray about it has blessed my life and I want to share that blessing with others.

Our Invitation
We invite everyone reading this to learn about The Book of Mormon.  Read it!  We have read it and found it to be a great blessing in our lives.  We also invite everyone reading this to read the Bible.  The Bible and The Book of Mormon together can bring so many blessings into your life if you read them and try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Some of my favorite passages in The Book of Mormon are:
Dan's Testimony
I spent 2 years of my life in the Philippines sharing this message with the wonderful people there.  It was 2 years that I will never forget and never regret.  The Book of Mormon is true.  I have seen first hand in my own life and in the lives of hundreds of other people the effect this book and its teachings can have on individuals and families.  I have witnessed the Savior's love for me despite the fact that I am one of billions of people that have lived and despite the fact that I am so imperfect.  I know that He lives and that if you honestly study his life and read The Book of Mormon, you will find that it is true and you will find the peace that His gospel can bring.

If you already know the truth of The Book of Mormon, please share this message with others!

Hey Dan, you have a very beautiful family, I randomly stumbled upon this blog after reading my friend's and then clicking the "next blog" button. What a great love story you and your wife have :) I don't mean to bother you. But I read your testimony "How Dan knows The Book of Mormon is True" - How can one "classify" something to be "true" just because they "felt" it was true?? Our hearts can be very misleading at times and when we trust in ourselves or our "feelings" they can take us to bad places. I'm assuming that you believe the Book of Mormon and/or your faith to be absolute truth. How could "how we feel about something" be a basis for absolute truth? I might "feel" the sky is purple but its really blue, I might "feel" the earth is flat but its really round.. Do you get what I'm saying?

Thank you for the comment. I understand what you mean about truth and feelings. I know the book and its teachings to be true because I have read, studied and followed the principles taught in the book. I realize this really is a matter of faith. When I discuss feelings, I really should have been more specific. I believe that God still speaks to his people today through the Holy Ghost. I believe the feelings I had and still have about the Book of Mormon and the LDS church to be from God, through the Holy Ghost. However, just because I feel that way, doesn't mean I accepted it all right away. I follow the teachings as best I can and do see a difference in my life and have seen the differences these teachings have had in the lives of others when they read the book and follow its teachings.

Really, the only way for you to know what I am talking about is by reading the book, attending LDS church services, and trying it out for yourself. Take a look at the rest of the blog for further details on the Church, about the Book of Mormon, etc. Get a free copy.

After years of experience in the LDS church, I can tell you the feelings did not take me to a bad place...but definitely a happier place. This is why I like to share this with others and am glad you happened to stumble upon it.

Again, thank you for the comment. More comments and questions are certainly welcome.

Hello Dan, Thank you for answering my question, my name is Darren btw; its nice to meet you :) I hate to bug you with controversial questions... But if they are welcome, I will ask.

Last post you said "I know the book and its teachings to be true because I have read, studied and followed the principles taught in the book.... I believe the feelings I had... I realize this really is a matter of faith......." So you do agree that the validation of the Mormon Faith is a matter of faith rather then truth? Because feelings are relative... Many people feel different things, the way to test the Mormon faith is through subjective "feelings", am I correct? You felt that God told you something and/or you had an experience while reading the Book of Mormon.

I am going to assume there are people that exist that haven't had that same experience with the Book of Mormon when they read it; they didn't have God speak to them, they didn't have a good feeling.. Or even perhaps "God" told him/her the Mormon faith isn't the right one, Buddha is.. (I'm sure someone his claimed this) Does that make him correct because he felt God tell him that? My point is many people say "God told me this..I felt this......" In fact, every person that belongs to a particular religion would probably say "... they know God exists because.... they "felt" him, he "spoke" to them... etc. What would you say about this? What makes is the Mormon "feeling" more credible then the Buddhist's "feeling".

This is not a question about the existence of God. I believe God exists! It quite obvious that we have a creator to such a beautiful universe :).. But God exists regardless of how I "feel" or think about him.

I'm sure you'll agree that God can't also be Buddha, Allah, and every other god that everyone else worships out there... Meaning only one can be right. So God can't be Allah, Buddha, and Hindu, if he is the Mormon God. Am I making any sense? Would you agree? People can believe something to be truth and be wrong; even the people that have life changing testimonies about something. I'm sure the ideologies of Buddha, Allah, and Hindu, have changed many peoples lifes just like your faith has greatly impacted your life.

Would you agree with this statement - Just because you believe a certain way about something it, doesn't make it true?

I guess my biggest question would be. Is there any other way the Mormon faith can be tested outside the way you "feel"?

Sorry if this is too much! Anyhow, get back to me whenever you can.

Grace and Peace

Darren

Do you think following the Mormon book has actually helped you in your life? If so, how? Does praying even help? I used to believe in a god, but praying never helped me. I gave up in God and now follow the religion of science.

Amelia-

Yes, the Book of Mormon has helped me in my life. It has taught me of the love that God has for all of us. It has taught me the importance of following Christ, having faith in Him, learning, being a good parent, being a good example to others, leaving a legacy for my posterity, and many more things.

Praying helps when you listen, feel and look for the answers to your prayers. God is real. He does answer prayers. I know if you try again and sincerely seek his wisdom, he will help and guide you as he has me and millions of others.

Thanks again for the comments.
