This past week was busy with work. With the price of gas going up, I decided to take the bus home from work as well as to work, instead of having Ritchell pick me up. It means another hour of my day is spent on the bus. I don't mind it much. I spend most of my time on the bus reading.
We finally have a date when our carpet will be installed. May 30th. We're excited to be able to get AnaBelle's room ready for her. I have a crib to put together, and we have a ton of clothes to put in her closet. She also has a lot of blankets, a bouncer, and just about everything you might think a baby should have... almost all of which are pink. :) She has already had 2 different baby showers...one from Ritchell's Filipina friends, and the other from her work friends. We just found out today that she will be having a THIRD baby shower! This one will be done for her by the ward. AnaBelle is spoiled already, and she's not even here yet. :) We're very thankful for everyone's generosity in giving AnaBelle everything she needs. We couldn't ask for more.
It got really hot this week, so yesterday I spent a lot of time on the roof getting our swamp cooler working.... or so I thought. It worked great yesterday, but then today wasn't working so great. Anthony came over with Cammy and their kids this evening...and Anthony and I got up on the roof and he helped me unclog the lines so that the pads were getting wet enough to cool us down. It's working great now and mommy and baby are happy now. :)
We are looking forward to a vacation next weekend. We're finally using a timeshare that we bought over a year ago. We are going to be headed to Oceanside, California. We will be staying at a condo that is supposed to have everything you would normally have in your home. We plan on going to the beach, to SeaWorld, the San Diego Temple, and whatever else we find time to do over there. It will be our first time to California other than the airports. I'm hoping that AnaBelle doesn't decide to come that weekend. :)
We are hoping to buy tickets to the Philippines soon for January. It will be nice to get to go back after I graduate from BYU. If all goes as planned, we'll spend most of that month over there visiting with family and friends... and showing off our new addition to the family. :)
Ritchell will be applying for US Citizenship next month. More money out of our pocket going to the government... :) It costs $400 to apply. This price is supposed to increase soon to something like $700, so we thought we'd get it done before the price goes up. Ritchell can still retain her citizenship in the Philippines and be a dual citizen for another $50.
With everything going on this summer/year...I think it is probably the most exciting times of my life so far. The thought that we are going to be parents soon is very exciting. We're also excited to graduate from school, and go back to the Philippines. Life is good.
We hope that all is well with everyone that reads our blog. We really appreciate all of the comments we get, and all of the support everyone gives us.
Here are some pics of the roses in our front yard, and some of Ritchell's 2nd baby shower.
